Texniques Essay

Jasmine Francis

I will be writing about the different techniques that you can use to take images. But not just any techniques but the RIGHT ones, well my favorite ones. The kind that suit the images I like to take.

I chose some techniques that will help me when I’m taking pictures. One of the techniques that I chose was “fill your frame”. This techniques basically describes how to take a perfect already cropped picture, with having the right things in a perfect sized frame. Cropping your photo means having what you want to see in the photo, & leaving the un-important stuff out. Then again when using “fill your frame” you can zoom in at the right angle to crop a little bit of something out of the picture but also having something in the background.

The Next technique that I picked was “finding fresh angles to shoot from”. This is my favorite technique cause you have to position yourself in different ways. For example if I wanted to take a picture of an running cheetah. Which I find highly impossible for me being out in the safari taking a picture of a cheetah coming at me. But there are 3 ways to take this picture you can either be crouching in the tall grass to get some of the grass cutting of the cheetah’s feet but catching the blur from it running(from the side). Another way is climbing in a tree looking down at the cheetah running but also seeing why it’s running, & also the things around it (birds, trees, other animals, possibly a pond). The last way to take a picture of a running cheetah is to be a slight distance away from the cheetah but also in front of the cheetah so you can catch what’s in the background & the expression on the cheetah’s face, which will be the definition of the picture.

My other technique is “Getting horizons horizontal”. This is when your taking a picture a square or something with an angle or slanted. This is kind of difficult because you have to find an EXACT point to be sitting, or standing. To take an horizontal picture you may have to be on the side or on top of the image.

So there I have just stated some examples of different techniques you can use to take perfect pictures. I prefer the “finding fresh angles to chose from” that was my top favorite one to use. Cause not only are your exploring the picture your taking but your also exploring what around you. Getting down to the ground to get the perfect angle, its very fun.
